Countess Mountbatten Hospice is a place where those with life limiting illnesses, are cared for at a very special time by a team that deliver ‘over and above’.
Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity adds to the care provided for patients, families and carers at a critical and precious time in their lives. Whilst the NHS delivers the best in medical care, the charity provides those little (and not so little) extras that make a difference to someone’s remaining days. Our hospice serves a community of 1 million with a catchment of 460 square miles, and we look after some 3000 patients in the hospice and their own homes. We are tasked with raising £1 million each year. The charity funds many items from pain relieving mattresses, a ‘booze’ trolley, heat pads, volunteer drivers and some last requests.
We have some 200 volunteers who have a variety of tasks. From gardening, meet & greet at the hospice, drivers, be-frienders and many more.
